Lyrics
“Fallen Light” – by The Band Almighty
They said the sky was darkness —just an empty space,
but I swear that Heaven shines, and is full of God’s good grace.
As angels fell to earth— a journey in the silent night,
They carried with— His golden promise —we call Fallen Light.
They stood like flames with folded wings, no shadow on their face,
Not driven out, not dragged in chains—no trace of lost disgrace.
God unlatched the midnight gate and pointed to the land,
said, “Go and carry mercy down, go take them by the hand.”
New grace was streaming in the night, like dawn before the day,
A river made of golden light came pouring down the way.
They fell like stars through velvet dark, a bright and burning flight,
they didn’t fall to lose His love… they fell to bring His light.
It was all part of His great plan, to help the people rise—
To bring God’s light to this land, through a billion different eyes.
Fallen light, golden bright,
turning shadows into sight.
They came down low so we could rise,
Brought His pure love into our eyes.
They helped God’s grace to shine on our face,
in our darkest hour, in our hardest place—
these chosen angels, heroes of the night,
bringing us the gift of His Fallen Light.
They walked through towns of tired souls, where doors are locked in fear,
where people wear a brave disguise, but hide their every tear.
They found the ones who felt unseen, the ones who lost their way,
a spark of Heaven placed in their path— a light in their dark day.
They showed up as a lifted hand, a call that came in time,
a stranger’s voice “Are you okay?” that landed soft and kind.
And every time the darkness said, “You’re done, you’re not enough,”
That fallen light would whisper back, “You’re loved, so stand back up.”
It was all part of God’s great gift, simple in the plan—
To bring His light to this land, and help you understand.
They stood between the frightened child and what he couldn’t name,
they cooled the fevered head at dawn and took away the blame.
They guided tired fathers home, taught mothers how to breathe,
and planted songs inside the cracks where hope refused to leave.
And every time the darkness tried to dress itself as truth,
they answered with a better word and gave the world its proof:
that God is closer than your fear, stronger than your fight—
and even when the sky looks closed, He sends you Fallen Light.
If you can’t see the light inside of you, you’re not the only one—
we judge ourselves by what we feel, when grace is hard to come.
So lift your face, take one more step, let mercy be your guide—
For in every step you have His light, He’s always by your side.
So lift your head, don’t lose your fight—
He’s still sending down that Fallen Light.
Yeah, lift your head, don’t lose your fight—
He’s still sending down that Fallen Light.
